DYRE GORMSEN

Ask Dyre what his instrument is and he’ll say sound. Already as a 20-year old Dyre was a pivotal figure in the Danish music scene, working with indie bands like Mew and Swan Lee. He founded Sauna Recording Studio, directed the Copenhagen venue Lille Vega and toured the world before he landed in London, where he met acclaimed producer Martin Terefe. Dyre was instantly hired as Martin’s engineer in legendary Kensaltown Recording Studio. Together they’ve developed a distinguished sound that has influenced a generation of artists.

Dyre has worked on a wealth of productions: Mary J. Blige, Train, Theory of a Deadman, Ron Sexsmith, Mika, Jack Savoretti, Cat Stevens/Yusuf, Martha Wainwright, Jason Mraz and Paul McCartney.

In 2009 Gormsen’s work earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Engineered Album, non-classical with Jason Mraz, We Sing, We Dance , We Steal Things.

He won a Latin Grammy for Record of The Year with Jesse & Joy, Corre! in 2013 and has been nominated several times.

In 2020 Dyre received a certified Diamond Record for Jason Mraz, I’m Yours and in 2021 Hey Soul Sister by Train was also certified Diamond by the Recording Industry of America (RIAA.) It’s the 49th song in the world to reach that milestone.

In 2019 Dyre opened his mastering suite and Atmos Studio, Eastcote Mastering, a charming laboratory in West London that’s all about great sound.

Upcoming releases include the soundtrack to feature film Sharp Stick directed by Lena Dunham, music produced by Attawalpa.
